Hours Ledger is currently designed for U.S. W-2 hourly workers and is offered on the U.S. App Store. It supports federal 40-hour and California overtime rules, not every state.
Common questions
Where is my data stored?
On your iPhone. Hours Ledger uses a local SQLite database and local snapshots. There is no account and no server-side copy of your pay data in v1.
How do I move to a new phone?
Export a JSON backup on the old phone, install Hours Ledger on the new one, then use Import backup. Keep the backup file somewhere you control. iCloud automatic sync is not part of v1.
How do I manage or cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open the App Store app → your account → Subscriptions, or use “Manage subscription” in Hours Ledger. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
How do refunds work?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Use Apple’s “Report a Problem” flow or contact Apple Support. We cannot issue App Store refunds directly.
How do I delete my data?
Delete the app to remove its local database and snapshots. Also delete any backup or CSV files you exported. For analytics or support-email deletion, email legal@varnothing.works.
Which overtime rules are supported?
Federal 40-hour overtime, California daily 8/12 and the seventh-day rule, and California 8/80 healthcare overtime. Other state and local rules are not supported in v1. The app provides estimates, not legal, tax, or payroll advice.
Why does the app ask for notifications?
Planned-shift reminders are optional and Premium. You can decline notifications and still use the app.
Is there an Android or web version?
Not in v1. The website is for information, support, and legal pages; it does not sync with the app.
